Who will win the 2023-24 Championship?

Leicester City looked unstoppable during the first half of the season as they put together a spectacular run of form to emerge as massive favourites for the Championship trophy.

Enzo Maresca’s men entered the new year with only three league defeats from their first 25 matches.

However, things have changed dramatically in the English second tier in the last few weeks.

The Foxes’ 14-point lead at the top has been reduced to only three after they picked up just one win in their last five games.

Their latest game on Saturday saw the Midlands outfit suffer a 2-2 draw at Hull City, with Jamie Vardy scoring both goals for the visitors.

Momentum with Leeds

Leeds United are flying high in the Championship right now as they are hitting peak form just at the perfect time.

The Whites have brilliantly slashed the gap to only three points with leaders Leicester following 11 victories from 12 matches in 2024.

This looked very unlikely following their miserable start to the new campaign when they claimed just one win from their first five matches.

Leeds have now moved to second in the Championship table following their 2-0 success at Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night coupled with Ipswich Town’s slip-up at Cardiff City.

The Owls were on a four-game winning run but goals in either half from Patrick Bamford and Wilfried Gnonto sealed a comfortable victory for Daniel Farke’s men

The momentum has massively shifted towards Leeds in recent weeks and we believe they are now the favourites for the Championship trophy.

The Whites have a favourable run of fixtures and they are not expected to drop many points before the end of the campaign.

The Yorkshire side’s most tricky fixture remaining appears to be their final game against Southampton in May but that will take place at Elland Road.
