Norwich City are reportedly keen to sign Manchester City’s Callum Doyle in the ongoing transfer window.
The Canaries made a terrible start last season but improvement in the second-half of the campaign saw them finishing sixth in the Championship table.
However, their Premier League promotion hopes ended in the play-offs semi-final after a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Leeds United.
The Norfolk-based outfit will aim for promotion again in 2024-25, and they have begun to reinforce their squad.
According to BBC Sport, Norwich are interested in signing City youngster Callum Doyle.
The Citizens, who clinched their fourth straight league title but lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup final last term, have already sold several academy players this summer. They may not sell Doyle but could allow the young defender to exit the Etihad Stadium.
The 20-year-old was on loan at Leicester City last season, where he made 23 appearances across all competitions to help the Foxes return to the English top-flight.
Doyle made an impressive start to the 2023-24 campaign but picked up a knee injury in September that kept him sidelined for around three months.
He returned to the first-team in January but struggled to build momentum again and he was mostly featured off the bench by Enzo Maresca, who has now been appointed as Chelsea new manager.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one of City’s most talented youngsters but he doesn’t look to have a future in Manchester.
Doyle has mostly remained on loan to other clubs and it looks he is on the move again this summer.
