Harry Amass joins Norwich City on loan from Manchester United

The 2026 winter transfer window is in full swing as Championship clubs are trying to add new quality players to their squad.

Norwich City have confirmed they have signed Harry Amass on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite the Owls’ struggles, the teenager performed exceptionally well for the Championship outfit.

He made 21 appearances in the second-tier, with a goal and an assist to his name.

Wednesday were left impressed with Amass and wanted to retain his services for the second half of the season.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United were happy to allow the defender return to the Hillsborough Stadium, but Norwich offered a better financial package.

Amass is one of the best talents to emerge from the Red Devils’ academy.

After impressing with his performances for the youth teams, he made his competitive debut for United in April last year against Newcastle United.

The youngster has made seven senior appearances so far for the Premier League giants.

Amass is a tough-tackling defender who is highly rated for his intelligence and technical ability. He mainly operates as a left-back but can also play in midfield.

Norwich have endured a challenging 2025-26 campaign, as they are sitting 20th in the Championship standings with 30 points.

They appointed Liam Manning as manager in June, but the English boss lasted just 17 games at Carrow Road.

The Canaries lost all their home league matches and cup games under Manning’s leadership.

Performances and results have improved since Philipe Clement took over the club in November.

Norwich have won four of their previous six league matches, but still are only a point above the relegation zone
