Burnley, Sheffield United and Luton Town were the three best teams in the 2022-23 Championship season as they earned the right to play in the top-flight next term.
The Clarets particularly were the most outstanding of all as they completely dominated the league throughout the campaign.
Under the leadership of Vincent Kompany, they put together a stunning run of form and secured automatic promotion with seven games to spare.
Burnley easily clinched the Championship title, posting an incredible 101 points in the process.
Sheffield United finished below them in second, a position they thoroughly deserved.
Meanwhile, Luton won the playoffs final against Coventry City to become the third side to gain promotion to the Premier League.
On the other hand, three big clubs in Southampton, Leeds United and Leicester City dropped down to the second-tier at the end of the term.
They will be among the favourites to earn promotion to the top-flight, increasing huge competition to the likes of Middlesborough, West Bromwich Albion and Watford.
Below we look at some of the best pre-season fixtures to catch this month.
1- Leeds United vs Manchester United
Football fans can enjoy a mouthwatering clash before the 2022-23 Championship fixtures start in August. United and Leeds will lock horns with each other at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo on July 12.
2- Crystal Palace vs Watford
Crystal Palace will be in action against Watford at the Crystal Palace Academy on July 22 as part of their 2023 pre-season fixtures.
3- Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur
Leicester’s relegation to the second-tier was greatly shocking considering they lifted the Premier League trophy only seven years ago. They are now set to lose many of their top players this summer but even then, their squad quality will likely be enough to earn them an immediate return to the English top-flight.
The Foxes will meet Tottenham, who also endured a highly disappointing 2022-23 campaign, at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok on July 23.
4- Southampton vs Bournemouth
Southampton, who dropped down to the Championship for the first time in 11 years this season, will meet with Bournemouth on July 25 at St Mary’s Stadium.
5- Liverpool vs Leicester City
Liverpool are one of the most successful and famous clubs in Europe. They will lock horns with Leicester this summer at the Singapore National Stadium on July 30.
